Amish Visit In-Person Tour

Longwood Gardens

Trip Itinerary
  • Day1: Depart for Lancaster, PA, the heart of Amish country. Enjoy 2 nights at the Comfort Suites Lancaster, featuring spacious guestrooms, indoor pool, fitness center. Dinner tonight at Millers Smorgasbord
  • Day 2: Join a local guide for the first (and only) tour to have been designated a "Heritage Tour" by the County of Lancaster, as an authentic experience of local culture - a Guided Amish VIP (Visit IN Person) Tour. Visit an operating dairy farm where the farmer shows where the cows are milked and how he does so using "Amish electricity". Travel scenic back roads to an Amish home, where you will be invited inside for a private presentation and Q & A with a member of the local Amish community. Visit the Amish Country Homestead Schoolroom and meet an Amish school teacher. You'll be fascinated with her stories of what it's like teaching eight grades in one room. Everyone receives an authentic Amish report card. Take our reserved seats at the Sight & Sound Theatre for the brand new show "SAMSON". The worlds first superhero...the strongest man who ever lived...He killed a lion with his bare hands and defeated a thousand soldiers...but he's not a hero because of the strength of his hands, he's a hero because of the faith in his heart! When Samson stands between two colossal columns in a godless temple and starts to push - it's an immersive scene that literally brings the house down! Dinner tonight at The Greenfield Restaurant.
  • Day 3: After breakfast we depart Lancaster and spend the day exploring LONGWOOD GARDENS, the renowned du Pont Estate - over 40 indoor /outdoor gardens, conservatory & dancing fountains. Stroll along the many paths through acres of exquisitely maintained grounds featuring 11,000 different types of plants. Head for home with memories of our special Amish experience.
