4 Days/5 Meals

Travel to Europe without leaving the continent and enjoy the tastes of France!  Quebec City entices visitors with its continental charm, history and French culture. UNESCO has designated Old Quebec as a World Heritage Site and its Chateau Frontenac is the world's most photographed hotel.  Before arriving in Quebec we visit the picturesque town of Newport, VT and enjoy a "4 sips & 4 bites" of seasonal Vermont specialties at the Northeast Kingdon Tasting Center, with time for lunch (on own).  In Quebec we check into the Best Western Plus Center City, a full-service hotel in the heart of downtown Quebec.  This evening enjoy a true French dining experience at the Cafe de Paris.  The next day we enjoy breakfast at Quebec's Parliament Building - the only Parliament in the world that opens its' doors to the public to dine in a majestic Beaux Arts setting.  We tour Parliament with our local guide followed by a city tour to include the Plains of Abraham, Joan of Arc Garden, Place d'Armes, Chateau Frontenac and the Place Royal.  Finally we tour the Citadel, an 18th Century fort known as the "Gibraltar of North America".  We head to the trendy St. Roch district of the city and enjoy lunch on own followed by a terrace setting tasting of different beers at a Micro-Brewery.  We enjoy free time the rest of the day, with a wide variety of options for dinner (on own).  The following morning we depart along the St. Lawrence Seaway for the beautiful Beaupre Coast, stopping first at Montmorency Falls which is twice as tall as Niagara Falls. Travel the backroads to vist Marie's Bread Oven and enjoy fresh-baked bread with maple butter.  Next, we visit the remarkable Ste. Anne du Beaupre Basilica, renowned for its "healing" powers, artistic masterpieces and extraordinary history. Afterwards, we stop at one of the oldest French settlements in North America on the Beaupre Coast at the Winery L'Ange Guardien for a guided visit and tasting of various wines.  Next is a must visit to the Island of Orleans.  A short distance from Quebec but missed by many tourists, the small meandering roads and quaint villages give you a truly European countryside tour and magnificent views of Quebec City overlooking the St. Lawrence.  We stop at the Domaine Steinbec for a Normandy-like experience as we taste hard ciders and sample pates, terrines and chocolates.  We return to Quebec City for some free time before dinner - a "Vive la France" evening at the "Cotes a Cotes" restaurant along the Saint Lawrence, with views of the Chateau Frontenac illuminated.  On day 4 we depart, with a stop at the border for some Duty Free shopping.
