Oxford Parks & Recreation is partnering with Post University to offer High School Summer Academy giving high school students a smart head start in Summer 2016.

This summer, high school students are invited to the main campus of Post University, to take part in engaging, one-week-long programs in high-demand fields!
They’ll learn from professionals for an intensive, real-world exploration in exciting subjects. Participating students even have the option to earn college credit through their coordinating online High School Academy courses.

Environmental Explorers Academy
July 18 – 24
Study the local environment hands on and learn about sustainability.
Students can:
• Perform hands-on field investigations
• Enhance their understanding of ecological systems
• Study characteristics of an aquatic ecosystem
• Examine aspects of sustainability

Social Media Academy
July 18 – 24
Use your social media savvy to advance in a professional environment.
Students can:
• Become more media literate
• Learn the consequences of unprofessional social media use
• Discover ways to use social media for networking
• Find out how important it is to build a social media presence

Crime Scene Investigation Academy
August 1 – 5
Learn from the pros what it means
to be Crime Scene Investigator.
Students can:
• Work with real police officers and other field experts
• Collect fingerprints and analyze crime scene photographs
• Process a crime scene with professional equipment
• Watch a live ballistics demo with a state-certified ballistics expert
• Have the option to earn college credit
