Getting Back to Basics

Homemade soap used to be a common item found in every household at one time. Today it is almost a lost art.

If you've ever wanted to make your own soap, now is your chance to learn from an experienced soap maker.  Join local resident MaryAnn McAuliffe as she teaches the simplicity of making your own soaps.

True soap is a luxury everyone should be able to afford.  We'll explore the history and trivia of soap, the difference between soap and today's cleansing bars, the ingredients used to make it and make a batch in class.

Homemade soaps make great holiday gifts and are good for skin and a true soap has natural moisturizing properties - a good thing to have with cooler weather on the horizon.
