Welcome to Historic Bennington, Vermont's first town.  Vermont is a beautiful place to visit during any season.  Enjoy the breathtaking vistas, experience covered bridges and explore the historic downtown area all in the splendor of the Green Mountains.  The town is known for the Battle of Bennington fought during the Revolutionary War and is home to the Bennington Battle Monument, the tallest structure in Vermont.  Its observation deck at the top of the 306-foot stone obelisk provides a view of Vermont, New York and Massachusetts.

Trip Highlights
We'll travel first to nearby Arlington to visit the Chocolatorium, a new chocolate exhibit, party place and fun place to explore. We'll immerse ourselves in the wonderful world of chocolate. Explore the history and culture of chocolate, where chocolate comes from and how it is made. This fun-filled exhibit will expand our knowledge of chocolate and features demonstrations and tastings.
Chocolate...that dark, pleasantly bittersweet, creamy luscious, mouth-watering, impossible to forget taste! Mmmmmmmm!
Our lunch today is at the Bennington Station Restaurant. Enjoy traditional American cuisine in the ambiance of a historic railroad station. The restaurant is on the register for historic places and has a long and proud history.
Our Menu will feature Soup/Salad, Choice of: Roast Turkey, Yankee Pot Roast or Scrod, apple Crisp and Ice Cream, Coffee or Tea
Following lunch, we'll visit the Bennington Pottery to watch master potters at work. Most pottery companies employ high volume assembly lines to produce thousands of pieces per hour. Bennington Potters is one of the largest working craft potteries in America, creating less than 500 pieces each day. Their pottery productions is organized around individual work station where carefully orchestrated handwork is completed. They believe this unconventional approach makes their pottery special. Creating a diversity of shapes to compliment various cooking, entertaining and decorating preferences is something they take pride in.
