Day 2: Monday, November 26, 2018
Charleston
Known as the Holy City, Charleston has survived the Civil War, major fires, an earthquake and hurricanes-and still exudes elegance, charm and grace. A local guide will show you the city highlighting the many historic homes and restored buildings adorned with delightful 18th-century Christmas decorations Stop at the battery overlooking Fort Sumter where, on april 12, 1861, the first shots of the Civil War were fired. Continue on to City Market, one of the oldest public markets in America. Meet a local artisan to learn about the tradition of weaving Gullah sweetgrass baskets, one of the oldest handicrafts in the United States. following your city tour, the choice is yours! Perhaps you will choose to explore Boone Hall Plantation where you'll experience southern plantation living as yo come to know one of America's oldest working plantations. Or, you may opt to explore Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum where you'' board the impressive USS Yorktown aircraft carrier and walk in the footsteps of sailors and officers as you tour the flight deck; you;ll also have time at the Congressional Medal of Honor Museum and marvel at the largest collection of military aircraft in the United States. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant before visiting James Island County Park, where over 500,000 lights provide you with an enchanting 3-mile driving tour.

- This tour includes moderate physical activity. The Iitnerary blends some longer days with shorter days and more leisure time. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, up stairs or on uneven walking surfaces should be expected.
- A deposit of $500 per person is due upon reservation. Reservations are made on a first come, first served basis. Reservations made after the deposit due date of June 18, 2018 are based upon availability. Final payment due by September 26, 2018. Deposits are refundable up until June 25, 2018.
